Two men have been arrested in connection with a shooting in Limerick five years ago.
55-year-old Christy Keane was shot a number of times by two masked men as he parked his car on the grounds of the University of Limerick in the early hours of June 29th 2015.
He was seriously injured in the attack but survived.
Armed gardaí assisted local officers in arresting a man in his 40s in County Donegal yesterday in connection with the attack.
At the same time a man in his 30s was arrested in Limerick city.
They were both brought to Henry Street Garda Station and are due to appear before the Special Criminal court in Dublin this afternoon.
