A sudden hail storm struck the large city of of Novosibirsk in Russia on Saturday. 

Temperatures had reached 36 degrees that day and locals ventured to the beach to enjoy the summer weather when the hail storm suddenly struck.

According to reports in Siberia some of the hailstones were as large as golf balls. 

In the video it is clear to see how witnesses first laugh off the few hailstones before the storm becomes even more aggressive and dangerous. 

Beach goers were forced to flee the beach and take cover under anything they could find including umbrella's, lilo's and an air mattress.
