Two suspected gunmen have been captured after a stun grenade attack on a police post near Istanbul's Dolmabahce Palace.
The two were captured close to Taksim Square allegedly carrying automatic guns.
Ambulances have been sent to the area and roads have been sealed off by police, according to the Hurriyet newspaper.
There are no reports of casualties, according to the country's Dogan news agency.
It comes amid reports of eight Turkish soldiers being killed in a bomb attack in the southeastern province of Siirt.
The attack has been blamed on Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) militants.
The area has seen a string of attacks after the breakdown of a regional ceasefire last month.
