The trial of three people accused of shouting abuse at the President is to go ahead, despite objections that the allegations are too vague.

This case centres on allegations that threatening and abusive language was directed at President Michael D Higgins during a protest at Cappagh Road in Finglas in Dublin in January 2015.

Derek Byrne (36) from Stringfield Road, Kilbarrack, Anna Clarke (35) from St Donagh's Road in Donaghmede, and Diarmuid Dubhghlais (41) of Pairc Uí Mhaoiliosa in Finglas all face trial over the alleged incident.
