The Transport and Tourism Minister is to meet the man trying to take over Aer Lingus this afternoon.
Paschal Donohoe will sit down face-to-face with Willie Walsh for the first time since the offer was made.
The International Airlines Group boss is spending two days in Dublin trying to convince the government to accept the offer for the State's 25% of the former national flag carrier.
Minister Donoghue says he will make clear what is in the best interest for Ireland:
Minister Donohoe spoke to Newstalk Lunchtime this afternoon about his meeting with Mr Walsh.
Speaking about the takeover bid, the Tourism Minister told Jonathan "what I'm going to be guided by will be what would be the right long term decision for our country and Aer Lingus."
