A 16-month-old toddler is in a serious condition in hospital, after she was run over in the driveway of a house in Co Galway yesterday evening.

The incident happened in the Kilbannon area of Tuam at around 6pm.

She was rushed to Galway University Hospital, and was later transferred to Temple Street Children' Hospital in Dublin.

Gardaí say her condition is described as serious.
