The Lough Derg Marina in Killaloe, Co Clare is currently on the market for a fraction of its pre-crash price.
CBRE and Costelloe Estate Agents are looking for offers in excess of €550,000 for the 250-berth marina that was last sold in 2006 for €8m.
The marina covers 3.17 hectares (7.18 acres) and can be used for a mixed-use development that could combine activities like public berthing, cruiser rental, leisure activities, a small hotel and holiday apartments or houses.
During the recession the site fell into disrepair and it is currently in need of refurbishment.
It is rare for such a property to come on the market, and the estate agents are expecting considerable interest in the site.
The property adjoins Lakeside Hotel & Leisure Centre, and MarineVillage, a housing and apartment scheme. It also has excellent access to Balllina and Killaloe, which offer amenities including an array of restaurants and pubs.
The marina is a 2 hour drive from Dublin, 1.5 hours from Galway and 1 hour and 40 minutes from Cork.
