Largely dry this morning with just isolated showers, however, showers will become more frequent and widespread during the afternoon, turning heavy at times and wintry over the north of the country.
Winds will be mainly moderate southwesterly and temperatures will be 4 or 5 degrees at best in northern counties and 6 to 9 degrees elsewhere.
Tonight
Showers will become more isolated during the evening and early night but there will be further showers overnight, mainly along the western half of the country. Winds will be mainly moderate to fresh southwesterly but will be strong again in the north.
Lowest temperatures between zero and plus 3 degrees.
