The internet has been awash with rumours suggesting that Disney and Netflix have been working closely together on a Star Wars project, and it could take the form of a number of live-action series that would be exclusive to the streaming service.

The original rumour appeared on Cinelinx, and states that the success of Marvel's Daredevil on the platform has the two companies looking at other projects that they could possibly work on, and a Star Wars property is front and centre in those conversations.

While the movies have huge budgets, the shows would cut costs by reusing the sets that have already been made, and according to Uproxx, the idea of a live-action series has been touted for around a decade. Apparently, George Lucas has scripts for a more in-depth look at the world of the prequels stored in the Lucasfilm archives that are a different tone to the films, exploring a darker side to the Star Wars universe.

The stories told in the series would be ones that haven't found a home on the big screen or that simply wouldn't work in that format. It's all still very vague at this point, and there's no clue as to what the series would cover, given there are already three movies and other projects such as Rogue One confirmed already.
