IFA President Eddie Downey announces resignation

President of the Irish Farmers Association Eddie Downey has resigned from his position.

The announcement comes amid further revelations about payments at an emergency meeting of the executive council tonight.

Turkey releases audio of warning to Russian jet fighter before it was shot down

Turkey has released audio which it says confirms that its military did warn a Russian jet that it was entering Turkish airspace before it was shot down.

In the clip, obtained by FOX News Turkey, a voice can be heard speaking in English and Turkish.

"Human error" behind attack on MSF hospital, says US military inquiry

A US military investigation says "human error" and technical failures were the cause of airstrike on a Médecins Sans Frontières hospital in northern Afghanistan last month, which killed 30 people.

At least 13 staff and 10 patients, along with several unidentified victims, were among the dead at the complex in Kunduz on October 3, in an attack which the NGO described as a war crime.

Creighton asks Attorney General to release advice on IBRC inquiry

The attorney general has been asked to release her own advice to the cabinet over the stalled inquiry into IBRC.

The call on Maire Whelan comes from Renua, which says publishing the advice is the only way to regain confidence in the attorney general.
