Th Taosieach has said "the Government has nothing to hide" in relation to the IBRC sale of Siteserv, as pressure mounts to launch a Commission of Investigation on the sale of assets by the former Anglo Irish Bank.

The Dáil is looking to overthrow the last Catholic King of Ireland

Ireland is to overthrow King James II - more than 300 years after his death.

An order proclaiming him to be King of Ireland is being abolished as part of the latest overhaul of ancient and obsolete law.

King James was the last Catholic King of Ireland, ruling for three years until he was overthrown by William of Orange.

The order declaring him as King is being abolished under the Statute Law Repeal Bill, which will begin its journey through the Dáil today.

More than 2,000 people reportedly struck off Dublin City electoral register

It is claimed that 2,730 electors have been removed from the Dublin City electoral register since January.

Fine Gael Councillor Noel Rock says he made enquiries after being contacted by a number of people who were concerned they could not find themselves on the register online.

Mr Rock says he was "surprised to learn more than treble the number of people have been struck off", when compared to 2014.

The parents of Britain's youngest organ donor say their son "lived and died a hero" after the infant's kidneys saved the life of a patient with renal failure.

Doctors told mother Jess Evans during her 12th week of pregnancy that one of the twin sons she was carrying suffered a fatal condition which stops the brain and skull from developing.
