A new poll has indicated that the Irish population feel change is needed in relation to the 8th Amendment.
The first in a series of exclusive Newstalk/Red C polls, ahead of the general election, indicates that the majority of the electorate wants to see abortion laws within Ireland revised, while ensuring careful governance is still retained.
Rape or incest and cases of fatal foetal abnormality garner the strongest support for change, with less support recorded for non-fatal foetal abnormalities and suicide.
In the case of rape or incest, 78% believe abortion should be allowed while 76% believe it should be allowed in cases of fatal foetal abnormalities.

Gardaí say they are investigating over 200 lines of inquiry into the murder of Kenneth O'Brien.
The dismembered body of Mr O'Brien was found in a suitcase last Saturday in the Grand Canal, at Ardclough in Co Kildare.
Gardaí say that they are still trying to find out where Mr O'Brien was killed, and are trawling through phone and CCTV records.
They have also searched the victim's home and the area around where his body was found.
Irish fans who used a debit card to apply for Euro 2016 tickets may be in trouble
A number of fans who have applied for tickets to watch Martin O'Neill's side in action in France this summer may well end up disappointed.
Fans who have applied for tickets using their debit cards in the hopes that they will be travelling to see Ireland take part in the European Championships could be in line for some bad news.
Speaking on Lunchtime, Newstalk.com's business correspondent Joseph Conroy stated that "we've been on to the FAI, they've said that it is only credit cards to be accepted, no debit cards".
Conroy added that if you've already made the application, you can change your payment method, but warned "once applications close this weekend, you cannot change your payment details. So if you have a debit card and they're not taking them, it's goodnight and good luck, you're not going to Paris or Lille or Bordeaux".

The forecast comes as part of Newstalk Breakfast presenter Ivan Yates' series of election predictions. In the weeks leading up to polling day, he is calling the outcome for each of the 40 constituencies.
Sinn Féin will top the poll in the traditionally republican constituency, easily returning both Padraig MacLochlainn and Pearse Doherty.
Meanwhile, Fianna Fáil veteran Pat the Cope Gallagher will fail to win a seat, as will the Labour Party.
Man dies following crash in Co Galway
A man aged in his 20s has died in a crash in Co Galway.
Shortly before midnight the car he was travelling in hit a wall at Baile Liam in Spiddal.
He was rushed to University Hospital Galway, but was pronounced dead a short time later.
Gardaí along with units of the Fire and Ambulance Services attended the scene.
