One man killed in serious accident involving a multiple vehicle pile-up in Cork
Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the N20, Cork-Limerick Road at Ballydahin, Mallow, County Cork this afternoon Sunday 20th March 2016 shortly after 12.30pm. A man, aged in his early 70's, suffered fatal injuries when the lorry he was driving was involved in a collision with four cars. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has been taken to Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem is to be arranged.
Three Irish injured as 13 dead in Spain coach crash
Three Irish people have received non life-threatening injuries after a bus carrying foreign students crashed, killing 13 people in northeastern Spain. Minster of the Interior, Jorge Fernández Díaz, stated that all 13 victims who lost their lives in the crash were female. At least 43 were hurt when the coach collided with a car and overturned on the AP7 highway near Freginals around 6am local time.
Man killed in light aircraft crash reported in Longford this evening
A man in his 40s has died in a light aircraft crash in County Longford. The crash happened at around 5:30pm in Abbeyshrule Airfield just off the N55 Athlone to Granard Road. Emergency services attended the scene and the pilot was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
