A Boeing 767 affectionately known as "the big yoke" has come to its final landing place in a glamping site in Co Sligo.

The 80-ton decommissioned Russian aircraft, also known as the Enniscrone Eagle, was brought by barge from Shannon and landed last night on the beach at Enniscrone, Co Sligo.

In the early hours of this morning, the huge plane was transported through the streets of the village to its new home at "Quirky Glamping".

The project is the brainchild of local undertaker David McGowan, who plans convert it into luxury holiday accommodation on a new transport-themed campsite.

The jet travelled by barge on the high seas in a huge exercise from Shannon Airport to Enniscrone.
