Ten-year-old in ‘serious condition’ after County Clare crash

A ten-year-old boy is in “serious condition” after a crash in County Clare. 

It happened around 2pm on Sunday at Purcell Park in Shannon where Gardaí and emergency services responded to a collision between a van and the boy, who was a pedestrian.

The boy was airlifted to University Hospital Limerick before being transferred to Children’s Health Ireland at Temple Street in Dublin.

A man in his 20s, who was arrested in connection with the incident, has been released pending further investigations.

Gardaí are asking for any witnesses of the crash to come forward, particularly those who may have dash-came footage and were travelling in the area at the time.
