He was taken to St James's Hospital but pronounced dead a short time later.

A male teenager presented himself at a south Dublin Garda station on Saturday afternoon.

Investigating Gardaí have said they are following a definite line of enquiry - but are currently not considering any racial motive.

A post mortem examination was carried out by Deputy State Pathologist Dr Linda Mulligan.

A Family Liaison Officer has been appointed to the family of the victim, and Superintendent Martin McGonnell has requested privacy for them.

Gardaí have said they continue to engage with the local community in the area and the wider community of all parties involved.

They are continuing to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or who may have information, to contact Dundrum Garda station 01-666-5600, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800-666-111 or any Garda station.
