On the NPR TED Radio Hour, Sunday 7th December, Newstalk FM:

Some people might only dream of adventure, but for others, there’s no other option but to explore the most extreme places on Earth. From the deepest caves to rough oceans, from the North Pole to dizzying heights on a high wire, what drives adventurers to constantly push to the brink of human endurance? In this hour, TED speakers share their experiences of going to the edge of our world.

Polar explorer Ben Saunders became the youngest person ever to ski solo to the North Pole in 2004. This Autumn he'll set out on another record-breaking expedition, this time to be the first person to walk from the coast of Antarctica to the South Pole, and back again.

Engineer and daredevil caver Bill Stone explores the remotest depths of the Earth and pushes the limits of human endurance. Stone shares his experiences of what it's like to be deep underground for days.

Roz Savage quit her high-powered London job to become an ocean rower. She's crossed the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian oceans - solo.

High-wire artist Philippe Petit tells the amazing story of his tightrope walk between the Twin Towers in 1974.

The NPR TED Radio Hour on Newstalk 106-108 FM, this Sunday at 6pm.
