The terrifying Catalan tradition of building human pyramids is stronger than ever as the town of Tarragona showed last weekend.

The city, about 60 miles south of Barcelona, held its annual summer festival this week - the main attraction is the human towers the town is famous for.

This year they managed to create a seven pillar high pyramid. Organisers say it is the first time that has happened in the modern age.

The castle is a human structure that is divided into two parts: - The trunk (pyramid) - and pineapple (group of supporting people on the ground).

This picture shows a five eight, ie eight apartments per floor five towers.

Seen from above, we see that it is actually a structure of two towers attached to one of three towers.

This is the most difficult kind of pyramid to build.

A pyramid is considered to have succeeded when the smallest person reaches the top and raises his hand.
