The Tánaiste has appealed for all sides in Northern Ireland to ensure that today's parades pass off peacefully.
Contentious Twelfth of July marches will take place - last year these led to violence and several nights of disorder.
But there's fresh hope that a decision by the Orange order not to engage in a standoff with Police in Ardoyne in North Belfast this evening may ease tensions.
