The Tanaiste says the board of the Central Remedial Clinic have questions to answer about using public donations to top-up staff pay.

Eamon Gilmore says it's inappropriate to use money raised by charities to supplement the pay for senior workers.

His comments follow comments by the education minister Ruairi Quinn that the board of the C-R-C should resign.

The Tanaiste says the C-R-C must provide answers.“The board of the CRC have to provide answers. That’s what we have to see in the short term. What the HSE has asked each of the agencies to do is provide answers and explanations. That’s the first thing we need to see from them.”
