The Army bomb disposal team has made a suspect device safe, after the device was found by gardaí during a search in Co Galway.
Gardaí from Gort and Loughrea searched lands at Castledaly in the south of the county this morning.
As the operation continued into the afternoon, they discovered two boxes of ammunition and a suspect device.

The device was made safe by the Expolosives Ordnance Disposal Unit, and gardaí say their investigations are continuing.
