A triple suicide bombing on an island in Lake Chad has killed 27 people.

More than 80 people were injured in the blasts at the weekly market on the small island of Loulou Fou.

A state of emergency is in place in the region due to threats by extremist group Boko Haram.

The island is near Nigeria, Cameroon and Niger.
