The ESB says less than 100 people are without power in Galway following on from Storm Clodagh.

But three weather warnings are still in place, as the remnants of the storm remain.

There is a yellow wind warning for Wexford, Galway, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Waterford.

Southwest winds will reach speeds up to 65 kph with gusts of 80 to 90 kph, and strongest winds in coastal areas.

While there is a yellow rainfall warning in place for Galway, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick.

Met Éireann is forecasting between 35 and 45 mm of rain in places today.

And there is also a snow-ice warning for Donegal, mainly on higher ground, until midday today.

While in the UK, the Environment Agency has issued yellow flood warnings for Wales and the north of England for the next two days.

Almost a month's worth of rain is expected to fall in parts of Wales, the UK Met Office said.

Met Office forecaster Marco Petagna said: "We're going to see three-quarters of that fall in just one or two days. It is generally going to remain unsettled across the UK over the next couple of days".

Northern Ireland and southern Scotland will see wintry showers this morning, leading to slushy conditions. There could be some snowfall across northern England, but only on higher ground.

However, southern parts of the UK will see reasonably mild temperatures for this time of year, Mr Petagna said.
