Sinn Fein is calling on the acting Transport Minister Paschal Donohue to take action to resolve the ongoing industrial action by Luas drivers.
It comes as the Dublin Council of Trade Unions held a march and a rally in Dublin city centre.
Hundreds marched down O'Connell Street calling for solidarity and support for workers' rights, part of the worldwide May Day gatherings.
Louise O'Reilly is a newly elected Sinn Fein TD and former SIPTU organiser.
She says the acting Minister for Transport Paschal Donohue needs to take immediate action to solve the ongoing dispute between Luas drivers and their employer Transdev.
"We think there's a role for Paschal Donohue on this, he's still the acting minister until a Government is formed.
"I think he needs to get involved in the Luas dispute, he's tried to put himself at a distance from it... he's getting paid to be the acting minister for transport, he needs to do his work."
