Focus Ireland is calling on people all over the country to join the fight against child homelessness by taking part in its Shine A Light sleepout this October.
Each year, the charity’s Shine A Light campaign, proudly supported by Bord Gáis Energy, sees people sleeping out in their homes, gardens or workplaces to raise vital funds for the fight against homelessness.
The campaign has raised millions of euro for some of Ireland’s most vulnerable people since it was launched 13 years ago – with last year’s events raising a total of €1.2 million.
Shine A Light
This year, the focus is firmly on helping Ireland’s homeless children.
The stark truth is that there are now nearly 5,000 children living in homelessness in Ireland – and Focus Ireland is reminding people that we can’t accept that as normal.
The charity believes no child should ever experience the heartbreak of homelessness and is encouraging people to join it in taking a stand and demanding an end to child homelessness.
