Senator Ronan Mullen says voting No in the upcoming marriage referendum is not a vote against gay people.
The Independent Senator is calling on people to reject the proposed change to the Constitution.
Senator Mullen says if passed, the referendum will undermine children's rights.
And he has told Live 95 that a No vote will not undermine the rights of same-sex couples.
Meanwhile the head of a leading children's charity says they are calling for a Yes vote in the referendum because it is the right thing to do by children.
The ISPCC interim CEO was speaking at the launch of a video 'The Kids Are Alright' - which features the children of same-sex parents, calling for a Yes vote.
Caroline O'Sullivan has also rubbished claims they are only campaigning for a Yes vote because they are State-funded.
She says only 10% of their funding comes from the State and they have spent no money on this campaign.
