Any mist and fog will lift this morning.
Dry with sunny spells to start with scattered showers developing during the afternoon and evening – most frequent in the west and southwest first and the midlands later.
Some of these showers will be heavy and there is the potential for slow-moving thundery downpours, which could lead to localised flooding.
Winds will be mostly light and variable in direction.
Highest temperatures will range between 18C and 22C across most of the country; however, it will be cooler in the northwest and along the east coast, with highs of 15C to 17C.
TONIGHT
Cloud and patchy outbreaks of rain in northern areas early tonight will spread south across the country overnight.
It will be coldest across the northern half of the country with temperatures dropping to between 3C and 7C. Further south it will be mild with lows of 8C to 12C.
Turning breezy with moderate to fresh northeasterly winds; strong near coasts in the northwest.
