Last night, RTÉ aired their new series, Clean Break, what they describe as the "four-part tiger kidnapping crime drama [that] will put Wexford on the map".
The show received a fairly warm reaction on Twitter:
Great to see Wexford on #cleanbreak tonight. More quality drama from #RTE

#CleanBreak was well written and beautifully shot. Well worth a watch. Last ten mins so intense. Can't wait for next week.

On the other hand, some weren't too keen like Independent.ie's Ed Power who stated that the show "harked back to an older class of small town drama, with a dollop of stylised violence applied almost as afterthought."
However, that wasn't the view that RTÉ's TEN had about the episode, claiming that it lived up to the hype and was most certainly worth watching.
TEN's verdict said that it was a "tightly-wrought, atmospheric and dramatic opener that lived up to the hype" and that directors Gillies MacKinnon and Damien O’Donnell have "served up a slick, beautifully shot, cinematic piece of drama which immediately draws you into the story."
The "acting is top notch all round" and "the small details that make the show really hit home."
Clean Break began last night and will air every Sunday at 9.30pm on RTÉ One.
