A day after a new Roy Keane film was announced, the Ireland assistant manager will be appearing in another medium.
Author Roddy Doyle will write the ex-Manchester United captain's second autobiography which is set for an Autumn release.
The new book will be called The Second Half and follows on from Keane's first autobiography which was penned by Eamon Dunphy.
"Ten years ago I was buying something in a shop in New York and I handed my credit card to the young African man behind the counter. He read ‘Bank of Ireland’ on the card, looked at me and said: ‘Ireland – Roy Keane.’ I’m delighted to be writing this book with Roy," said Doyle.
Keane also confirmed that he was "happy to be working" with Doyle who won the Booker Prize in 1993.
Keane's last memoir saw him reveal that he attempted to cause injury to ex-Manchester City player Alfa Inge Haaland in 2001.
Since that book was released in 2002, Keane has entered management and had run-ins with Alex Ferguson, subjects which may be addressed in The Second Half.
