Revenue sniffs out more than €63,000 in cash at Dublin Airport

Officers from Revenue's Customs Service, along with help from a four-legged colleague, discovered €63,800 and stg£2,160 at Dublin Airport.

The cash was hidden in the baggage of a Polish man (32), who was about to leave on a flight to Krakow.

It was seized under the proceeds of crime legislation.

Detection dog Barney gave a positive reaction to the man's luggage during routine passenger checks yesterday.

Officers were granted a three month detention order by Judge Halpin in the Criminal Courts of Justice to carry out further investigations.
