Around €240,000 worth of cocaine has been seized by Revenue officers at Shannon Airport.

Members of the customs service seized 3.4 kilograms of cocaine on Sunday as a result of routine profiling.

Revenue detection dog, Ollie, assisted officers during a routine search of an aircraft - which had arrived from the United States.

The drugs were concealed behind a panel in the aircraft cabin.

An international investigation is ongoing in relation to the seizure.
