A meat processing plant in Tullamore, County Offaly has said 210 of its workers have tested negative for COVID-19.

All workers at Carroll's Cuisine were tested on Sunday after nine staff tested positive last week.

Operations have been suspended at the plant amid a surge in the virus in the midlands.

Clusters of cases in four meat plants in Kildare Laois and Offaly contributed to a two-week lockdown being imposed on all three counties.

The 210 staff who were tested for the virus on Sunday have come now come back negative.

The nine people who tested positive are still self-isolating at home.

Carroll’s is now engaging with the HSE on next steps.
