A video and picture have emerged online in which a Russian soldier allegedly takes what looks like a wedding ring from the wreckage of Malaysia Airline flight MH17.

The video entitled, 'Video of the sensational case of the gold ring', surfaced on YouTube yesterday and has quickly gone viral along with a snapshot of the very moment the soldier appears to find the ring.

It is claimed the wedding band type ring belonged to a passenger on board the Malaysia Airlines flight.

The soldier is believed to be a pro-Russian separatist and can be seen searching through the wreckage of flight MH17 which was allegedly shot down by a ground-to-air missile last week, killing 298 people.

The solider finds the ring and places it in a box and then turns around. It is unclear what happens to the ring next, however, twitter and social media platforms have erupted with claims the ring was taken or just thrown away.

Three other men in military uniform can be seen in the video tossing what appears to be the belongings of the fallen planes passengers into the back of a lorry.

It has been suggested that the soldiers are searching for evidence, however, there continues to be reports of chaos at the scene of the crash with little official organisation or investigation.
