A Dáil Committee is inviting public submissions on the Victims of Crime bill.
The draft legislation aims to provide victims of crime with a range of rights, including the right to information about the progress of their case.
It's being introduced in order to fulfil Ireland's obligations under the European Union victims directive.

The Joint Committee on Justice, Defence and Equality is inviting submissions on the General Scheme of the Criminal Justice (Victims of Crime) Bill by 3pm on Friday August 7.
