A man and a woman have been injured in an aggravated burglary in Derry.

Three masked men, armed with hammers and crow bars, forced their way into a flat in Queens Court in Coleraine at around 9:15pm last night.

The man and woman were attacked and later treated in hospital for cuts and bruising.

The men made off from the scene in a car with a loud exhaust.

The PSNI is appealing to anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
