Over 1000 people are marching in Dublin today, against water charges amid claims of political policing.
Members of several workers union including Mandate and the TUI were present to speak today, saying they'll continue to protestuntil the charges are rescinded.
Campaigners marched from Central Bank to Mountjoy Prison at 2pm.
Four people are serving sentences for breaching a court order not to obstruct the installation of water meters.
Two of the protestors were given sentences of 56 days, while two others were sentenced to 28 days in jail.
Another demonstrator, who is out of the country at the moment, also faces a jail sentence.
Sinn Fein MEP Lynn Boylan says the government isn't listening to the people.
Dublin City Councillor for the Anti-Austerity Alliance, Micheal O'Brien, does not think the jailing of the protestors will deter others from showing their opposition to the charges.
Jamie Goldrick from the Stoneybatter Against the Water Tax group is appealing to people to join the demonstration at Central Bank this afternoon.
This afternoon in Castlebar, Newstalk reporter Páraic Gallagher was asked to leave a protest.
Went out to #water charges protest at #fgnc15 & was asked to leave by two organisers who said I was provoking it because of who I worked for
