Every Friday sees the new album and single releases hit online and the stores, and here's our picks of the five songs you should be listening to this weekend.
Primal Scream - "(Feeling Like A) Demon Again"
Closing in on nearly thirty years since their debut album, and the constantly shape-shifting Scottish alt-rock band are back with their eleventh LP Chaosmosis, which sees them recruiting cutting edge collaborators such as HAIM and Sky Ferreira. It's just their dreamy, synth heavy soundscape to be found on this highlight though, perfectly suited to soundtrack the 4am comedown of an epic night out.
All Saints - "One Woman Man"
It's been nearly a month since they dropped the first single ("One Strike") from their upcoming comeback album (Red Flag), and they're keeping the momentum going with this epic sounding power ballad about meeting the man of your dreams, and finding out he's already got another woman in his life.
The Cast of Sing Street - "The Riddle Of The Model"
With the movie hitting Irish cinemas this weekend, we guarantee you that the soundtrack will be rolling around your head for days afterwards, thanks to the classic tracks from Duran Duran, The Cure and Joe Jackson. However, there's also a fair few original tracks to be found on there too, performed by the cast of the movie, including this, which is the band's first foray into 80s synth-pop.
The Pet Shop Boys - "In Bits"
A weird sort-of follow-on from their most recent single "The Pop Kids", which follows the narrative of that track, to the morning after a particularly spectacular night out. The new album Super won't feature this track (it's exclusive to those who bought "The Pop Kids" single), but is due for release on April 1st and promises some great things.
M83 - "Solitude"
The second single from their upcoming Junk album, after the recent "Do It Try It", and it finds the electro-band on some much more familiar ground, thanks to the Air-esque languidness and pure dream-pop sounds.
