Talks aimed at resolving a dispute that crippled postal services for four days have adjourned for the night.

The Communications Workers Union is in negotiations with IO Systems - the company which operates An Post's sorting machinery.

The talks are being chaired by mediator Phil Flynn and are attempting to resolve a dispute over rosters and pay cuts.

It is understood the talks will resume tomorrow afternoon.
