A police officer has been injured in a mass brawl in Belfast.
The PSNI says fighting broke out between a group of up to 30 young people armed with knives and sticks in the Skegoniel area in the north of the city at about 10 o'clock last night.
A 17-year-old received a head injury and was treated at the scene.
A police officer suffered what is described as a minor injury.
Police are reminding members of the public that it is an offence to carry a weapon in a public place.
“The fact is that carrying a weapon can have disastrous results not only for the victim but for the offender who will have to deal with the burden of a criminal conviction throughout the rest of their lives," PSNI Chief Inspector Davy Moore said.
Anyone with information on what happened last night us asked to contact the PSNI.
