Police have confirmed that 8 people have died following last night's helicopter crash into a packed pub in Glasgow.

Police have recently provided an update on the situation, revising the earlier death toll of 1 to 8. A further 14 people are being treated for "very serious" injuries at Glasgow hospitals.

It is now confirmed that all 3 of the individuals on board the aircraft, including 2 police officers and a civilian pilot, were killed.

The aircraft smashed through the roof of the building at around half ten last night.

First Minister Alex Salmond has described it as a 'black day for Scotland'.

An investigation is underway.
