Honda has just released images of their all-new HR-V. We’re told that it will arrive on our shores this summer and it looks like they are readying themselves to compete against the Nissan Juke and the Opel Mokka. As to who will win this battle will probably come down to price.

The manufacturer will be showing off the all-new HR-V at their stand in Geneva next month. This sub-CR-V SUV model will be among the larger cars in the small crossover segment. On account of it size it will immediately look a bit more imposing than its competitors with it being longer than the Juke and a little larger than the Mokka.

Inside you will find Honda’s “Magic Seat” system which is designed to create extra space. We’re told that the interior feels spacious and sporty. Embedded in the centre of the dashboard you will find a seven-inch touchscreen which is set to offer internet browsing, real-time news as well as music streaming services.

The pictures here show the new body with bold coupé-like lines, especially towards the rear of the vehicle. The lower body panels give this vehicle a sporty and robust stance. In keeping with the CR-V, the HR-V has the same style through the front grille, headlamps and the pointed taper of the rear side window line.

At launch there will be two engines in the 120hp 1.6litre i-DTEC diesel and the 130hp 1.5litre i-VTEC petrol. Both of these engines are part of Honda’s Earth Dream Technology series (this is what they call their commitment to fuel-efficiency and environment impact).

There is plenty of good competition with the aforementioned Juke and Mokka, but other competitors include the Renault Captur, the Peugeot 2008 and even the Mazda CX-5. Honda Ireland is yet to name their price on this vehicle but if it’s too high they might lose out in an already competitive car segment.
