The almost frighteningly catchy song Happy has spent more than a year occupying airwaves, dancefloors and MP3 players around the world. And now it seems as if even more kids could be clapping along if they feel like a room without a roof.
Yes, it seems as if the incredibly prolific Pharrell Williams is now turning his attention towards children's books. He has signed a deal with Putnam Books to create four picture books - with one set to be based around his most popular single.
Associated Press reports the book will feature photos 'of children from around the world “celebrating what it means to be happy.”'
It's worth pointing out that Happy started off as a song written for the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack before growing into an 'earworm' extraordinaire. So it's likely many kids will already be familiar with the song. Still, it's not every hit song that gets turned into a book.
Pharrell's band N.E.R.D. recently released a single to accompany the new Spongebob Squarepants film. No word yet on the literary adaptation.
