A pedestrian has been injured after being struck by a Luas tram on Dublin's Abbey Street this evening.

Emergency services remain at the scene, and it is understood the Luas service has been disrupted as a result of the incident.

It's understood the person is being removed to hospital this evening - however their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Service on the Red Line was disrupted due to the incident, though this has now been resolved. However delays are likely during the next hour.
