Patrick Sutton is the Director of the Gaiety School of Acting, and the director of the Smock Alley Theatre in Dublin’s Temple Bar.
He grew up beside the Leopardstown Racecourse in Dublin, where he lived with his father, Frank, mother, Ray and siblings Deborah, Catherine and Lucy.
Patrick pursued his love of the theatre after school when he studied in the Dartington College of Arts in England.
He was recently involved in the reincarnation of the Smock Alley Theatre, which had its original run from 1662 until 1787, and was reopened two years ago this month after an archelogical excavation – making it both the oldest, and the youngest theatre in Ireland.
Patrick’s wife is Mo, and they have two children: 26-year-old Sam, and Rebecca’s who’s 23.
And these are Patrick Sutton’s musical heirlooms.
Patrick's song choices were:
- Rory Gallagher - Bullfrog Blues
- Israel "Iz" Kaʻanoʻi Kamakawiwoʻole - Somewhere Over the Rainbow
