A passenger train has derailed in the Bronx district of New York.

Emergency services are at the scene, and there are reports of multiple injuries.

The accident occurred on the Metro North line near Palisade Avenue, next to the Hudson River.

The New York City fire department said five cars have gone off the rails and fallen on their side - with one of them partially submerged in water.
