The former Secretary General at the Department of the Taoiseach Padraig O hUiginn has died.
Mr O hUiginn played a prominent role in the development of the IFSC in Dublin as well as the Docklands in the city.
Born in 1924, he spent almost 50 years as a public servant before his retirement in 1993.

He served as the Secretary General at the Department of the Taoiseach for more than a decade, between 1982 and 1993.
He is widely credited as being behind the social partnership process.
Other roles over the course of his career included serving as the chairman of tourism body Bord Fáilte.
