The Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee wants Irish Water's accounts to be audited by the Comptroller and Auditor General.
John McGuinness is calling on the Government to change legislation, so this can happen.
He says while he welcomes the fact that representatives from Irish Water are appearing before the Oireachtas Environment Committee next Tuesday, he says it's outrageous that the state body cannot be compelled to appear before the Public Accounts Committee.
The Environment committee will hear why Irish Water spent over 50 million euro on consultants in its first year.
