The Orange Order has released its Christmas cards for this holiday season, taking a satirical shot at the Parades Commission.
Taking a leaf from Bing Crosbie's classic 'White Christmas,' one card features a family decked in sashes "dreaming of a traditional parade route... Just like the ones I used to know."
According to the Belfast Telegraph, the Parades Commission has placed restrictions on only 8% of the 26,000 parades held over the last decade.
Another design shows a 'naughty list' compiled by one of Santa's elves, which features the Parades Commission, the republican movement and parades protesters - all deserving to receive coal in their stockings, the organisation says.
A third offering attempts to recreate a WWI-era Christmas card to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Battle of the Somme, which occurs in July of next year.
The cards were produced by Belfast artist Brian John Spencer, and are available on the Orange Order website for between 60 and 70p each.
David Hume, Grand Lodge Director of Services, said: "The annual Christmas Cards of the Orange Institution have become something of an institution in their own right, and this year maintains a fine tradition.
"The Institution and its supporters have shown that they have a typical Northern Ireland sense of humour and in the past we have had the marching penguins to add colour to the Christmas season.
"Our cards normally sell out and we expect that these new cards will be extremely popular with the public."
