Police in Norway say a "bomb-like device" has been found in central Oslo.
One person has been arrested and is being held in custody.
A large area has been cordoned off following the security alert, reports say.
Spokesman Svein Arild Jørundland revealed the bomb squad was on the way after officers found a box, around 30cm square, near the bridge in Grønlandsleiret.
He said "It is of such a size that we do not think it has a great damage potential, but we will have to examine it.
"We have put adequate barriers, so that public safety is safeguarded."
The Oslo Police said on Twitter "We have cordoned off a large area when we have found a bomb-like object. We'll be back with more."
"We have no control on the spot, and are now awaiting until necessary investigations are concluded," before later adding "We have control of a person with a status of a suspect."
