Nine-year-old Saneie Masilela become the world's youngest groom for the second time, when he remarried his wife, Helen Shabangu, who is 62 years old. 

The young schoolboy said he did it to make the marriage 'official' but other villagers in the village of Ximhungwe in Mpumalanga, South Africa have described it as "sickening", reported The Mirror.

The wedding is claimed to be just another 'ritual', after Saneie was told by his dead ancestors last year to marry Helen.

Thought he is the youngest of five children, Saneie insisted on a second wedding to make the marriage official as he wanted to follow South African tradition. 

However the boy still has plans to grow up and marry a woman his own age in the future.

"I'm happy that I married Helen – but I will go to school and study hard. When I’m older I will marry a lady my own age. I chose Helen because I love her and, although we don’t live together all the time, we meet at the dumping site where my mother works regularly," he told The Mirror.

Bride Helen, has another husband, aged 66, who was present at both ceremonies.

She also has six children aged between 28 and 38 years old.
